Parks and Recreation
The Parks and Recreation department is a three-person crew that constructs, maintains and repairs park facilities while managing trash and vegetation at all of the City owned properties and parks. They accommodate for sporting activities, special events and help other departments when they can.
After serving in the Army for 20 years, Allen Day and his family made Walters home. “We love the people, our church and our community.” Allen enjoys doing his part to make Walters safe and well kept. He proudly works with his crew who is cross trained to be able to assist other departments. In his time with the City of Walters he has helped install lights at the walking track, installed three playground sets, assisted in repairing the Sultan Park waterfall, and many other projects.
